The Sherman Playhouse is seeking three men, ages 30 to 50, and five women, ages 25 to 70, for the Tony Award-nominated romantic comedy ENCHANTED APRIL by Matthew Barber from the
novel by Elizabeth von Arnim.

Set in 1922, ENCHANTED APRIL delightfully brings together four uniquely different women escaping harsh, rainy, war-scarred London to the warm sun and blooming wisteria of the Italian countryside. Leaving husbands and societal obligations behind, the desperate Hampstead housewives Lotty and
Rose, severe Mrs. Graves, and seductive Lady Caroline, along with some unexpected guests, learn to appreciate each other while rediscovering how to laugh and love under the Italian sun.

Under the direction of Susan Abrams, Auditions will be held Monday, February 15 and Tuesday, February 16, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All auditions will take place at The Sherman Playhouse, located at 5 Route 39 North (the intersection of Route 37 and 39), in Sherman, Connecticut.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script. No appointments are necessary. All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome. English accents are a must, and one female character must have a convincing Italian accent.

For more information, character breakdowns, and directions, visit www.shermanplayhouse.org or contact director Susan Abrams at 860-294-1643.

Rehearsals begin March 1 with performances running from April 23 to May 15 on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as Sunday, May 2.
