Sharon Playhouse, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Simpkins and Managing Director Justin Ball, presents the new musical comedy, Judge Jackie: Disorder in the Court on Stage 2 in the Bok Gallery from July 7-17. Opening Night is Thursday, July 7 at 7:00pm.

Judge Jackie: Disorder in the Court features music by Michael Kooman and book & lyrics by Christopher Dimond. Directed by Artistic Director John Simpkins, choreographed by Johnathan Teeling, with music direction by Joshua Zecher-Ross (Sharon Playhouse, Falsettos).

This hilarious new musical is penned by the award-winning songwriting team of Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond, noted recipients of the Jonathan Larson Grant, Fred Ebb Award, and Lorenz Hart Award.

Award-winning actress KLea Blackhurst returns to Sharon Playhouse in the title role. Playhouse audiences will remember her as Ursula in Disney's The Little Mermaid. Blackhurst recently starred in the new musical Hazel: A Musical Made in America in Chicago. A winner of the Connecticut Critics Circle Award, she has starred in Everything the Traffic will Allow at Music Theatre of Connecticut and Hello, Dolly! At Goodspeed Musicals.

Also featured in Judge Jackie are Paul Whitty as Henry, David Fanning as Shane, Tim Shea as The Man, and Danielle Gimbal as the Woman.

Judge Jackie rules over her reality television courtroom with an iron fist, presiding over a three-ring circus of America's most chaotic civil cases. But, when a drop in ratings brings her face to face with the liability of her own love life, the judge must learn to navigate the ludicrous laws of love in this over-the-top courtroom comedy.

Judge Jackie premiered at Pittsburgh C.L.O. and is based on a concept by Van Kaplan.

Michael Kooman (music) and Christopher Dimond (book & lyrics) received the 2013 Fred Ebb Award, a 2010 Jonathan Larson Grant and are the first recipients of the Lorenz Hart Award. Between them, they have received the Burton Lane Award, the Harold Adamson Award, the KC/ACTF Musical Theatre Award, a NYFA Fellowship, and numerous ASCAP Plus awards.
