Nicki Parrott, Brent Barrett & More Set For The O'Neill This Week

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's 2010 Tony-Award Season will close this week with the final performances of the Cabaret and Performance Conference, led by Artistic Director Michael Bush. Performances include: Nicki Parrott, Peggy Lee, Big Instruments, and Other Weapons of Mass Distraction, Brent Barrett Night Songs, 2010 Cabaret Fellows Evening Two, Stoned Soul Picnic The Songs of Laura Nyro and the Grand Finale Cabaret.

The performance of Nicki Parrott, Peggy Lee, Big Instruments, and Other Weapons of Mass Distraction will take place Tuesday, August 10 at 8:00 pm.

The performance of Brent Barrett Night Songs will take place Wednesday, August 11 at 8:00 pm. Mr. Barrett has starred in on Broadway in Annie Get Your Gun; Candide; Chicago; Grand Hotel; and more, and also in the West End, Los Angeles, television and film.

The performance of Cabaret Fellows Evening Two will take palce on Thursday, August 12 at 8:00 pm.

The performance of Stoned Soul Picnic The Songs of Laura Nyro will take palce on Friday, August 13 at 8:00 pm.

The performance of Grand Finale Cabaret will take palce on Saturday, August 14 at 8:00 pm.

Open Mic performance will follow the 10-13 shows. Table and General Admission tickets are available to each performance.

All performances take place in the Dina Merrill Theater at the O'Neill, 305 Great Neck Road in Waterford, Connecticut. The schedule is subject to change, so please call to confirm. The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, founded in 1964 in honor of Eugene O'Neill, four-time Pulitzer Prize Winner and America's only playwright to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, is the recipient of two Tony Awards, in 2010 for Regional Theater, and in 1979 for Theatrical Excellence.

The O'Neill is the country's preeminent organization dedicated to the development of new works and new voices for the American theater. The O'Neill has been home to more than 1,000 new works for the stage and 2,500 emerging artists. Scores of projects developed at the O?Neill have gone on to full production at other theaters around the world, including Broadway, Off-Broadway and major regional theaters.

O'Neill programs include the National Playwrights Conference, National Music Theater Conference, National Critics Institute, National Puppetry Conference, the Cabaret & Performance Conference, and National Theater Institute, which conducts semester-long intensive theater training programs, and Theatermakers - a six-week summer program.

In addition, the O'Neill owns and operates Monte Cristo Cottage as a museum open to the public. Childhood summer home of Eugene O'Neill, the Cottage is a National Historic Landmark.
