Kenneth Gartman to Host 'Open Mic Night' at Unity Center in Norwalk, 12/21

There's a new Open Mic Night in town, and it's quite the place to be! Kenneth Gartman hosts the monthly Open Mic Night on the 3rd Saturday of every month at Unity Center in Norwalk, CT. The next concert is set for Saturday, December 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. $10 cover. The Unity Center is located at 3 Main Street, 2nd Floor, Norwalk, Conn.

This month will mark 6 months since the Open Mic Night began back in June. Gartman invites a new featured entertainer to perform a spotlight set each month. So far guests have included Scott Coulter (Multi-Award Winning Cabaret and Recording Artist), Raissa Katona Bennett (Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Parade), Kristin Huffman (Company), and Nancy Witter (Nick@Nite's Funniest Mom's in America).

This month will feature Christina Connors. There is a wide array of talent from first timers to notable Broadway performers, cabaret artists, singer/songwriters, comedians, Broadway composers, MAC Award winning entertainers, folk artists and poets. All are welcome!

Sign-up for those who wish to perform is at 6:30 when the doors open. Some snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. If you would like Kenneth to accompany you at the piano, bring music printed out in your key.

Christina Connors (Featured Entertainer) - As a headline performer, Christina has traveled over Europe and South America, spending three years with Costa Cruise Lines in an extraordinary experience she used to expand her impressive range of styles to include additional Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, French, and German songs. In the United States, Christina is a frequent performer with regional theaters where some of her favorite roles include Mary in "The Life," Sarah Brown in "Guys And Dolls," Laurie in "Oklahoma," Mallory in "City Of Angels," and Marion in "Music Man." In Florida, she has been seen performing her one-woman cabaret show, "Journey to the Past," and as one of three women in Florida's award-winning show "Respect." No stranger to the New York stage, her performances there include her 2008 hit one-woman show "Home Is Where the Heart Is" in two of Manhattan's legendary cabaret theaters, Don't Tell Mama and The Duplex. Christina, a native of West Hartford, Connecticut, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theater from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford.
