The Hartt School presents the Institute of Contemporary Music Composers Seminar Series beginning Wednesday, January 26, and continuing weekly throughout the semester. Admission is free. Visit www.hartford.edu/hartt for more information.

Wednesday, January 26: MC Maguire presents a preview of his work Narcissus Auf Bali, featuring percussionist Bill Solomon, in Room 410 of the Fuller Music Center on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Admission is free.

Wednesday, February 2: Hartt faculty member Janet Arms, flute, speaks about contemporary flute music in Room 410 of the Fuller Music Center on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Admission is free.

Wednesday, February 9: Composer/pianist/film accompanist Don Sosin speaks about his music and activities in Room 410 of the Fuller Music Center on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Admission is free.

Wednesday, February 16: Matt Sargent's "Ghost Music" will be performed by percussionist Bill Soloman in Room 410 of the Fuller Music Center on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Admission is free.

Wednesday, February 23: Composer/organist Evan Cogswell previews his March organ recital in Room 410 of the Fuller Music Center on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Admission is free.

Wednesday, March 2: Co-sponsored with the Women Composers Festival, composer Gilda Lyons discusses her music in Room 410 of the Fuller Music Center on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Admission is free.

Wednesday, March 9: Hartt faculty member Carrie Koffman gives a beginning yoga workshop in Bliss Music Room of the Fuller Music Center on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Admission is free.

Wednesday, March 23: New York City composer Annie Gosfield speaks about her music in Room 410 of the Fuller Music Center on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Admission is free.

Wednesday, March 30: In conjunction with the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz, legendary jazz composer/songwriter/pianist/vocalist Bob Dorough lectures in Room 342 of the Fuller Music Center on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenues in West Hartford from 5:00 OM to 7:00 PM. Admission is free.

Wednesday, April 6: Canadian composer/pianist Frank Horvat lectures in Room 410 of the Fuller Music Center on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Admission is free. Horvat will perform a recital in Berkman Recital Hall at 8:00 PM. Admission is free.

Wednesday, April 13: The Hartt School presents Public Works, a concert of new music by Hartt Composition students at 8:00 PM in Berkman Recital Hall on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford .

Wednesday, April 20: Hartt faculty member and composer Stephen Michael Gryc presents a preview of Violin Concerto. Gyrc also composes incidental music for Hartt Theatre productions. This lecture is in Room 410 of the Fuller Music Center on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Admission is free.

Wednesday, April 27: A concert of new works by freshman composers takes place in Bliss Music Room of the Fuller Music Center on the University of Hartford's main campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford at 5:00 PM. Admission is free.

The Hartt School is the comprehensive performing arts conservatory of the University of Hartford that offers innovative degree programs in music, dance, and theatre. Founded in 1920, Hartt has been an integral part of the University of Hartford since its charter merged the then Hartt School of Music, the Hartford Art School, and Hillyer College to create the University in 1957. 2010 marked Hartt's 90th year of providing world class performing arts education to students in Greater-Hartford and around the world.
