Beck Center for the Arts' 80th theater season opens on Friday, September 20 with the award-winning musical She Loves Me. Since its humble beginning in 1933 as Lakewood Little Theater, the organization has grown to be one of the largest arts organizations in Northeast Ohio, serving nearly 60,000 constituents annually with dynamic theater, arts education, exhibits and outreach programming.

To celebrate the past and look forward to the next 80+ years of creating art experiences, Beck Center will host its inaugural fundraising gala, Spotlight, on Saturday, October 19, 2013. The gala will include a special presentation to honor Terry Stewart, past President & CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Museum.

Mr. Stewart was selected as honoree in recognition of his outstanding leadership at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Museum and the important collaboration between Beck Center and the Rock Hall, Toddler Rock. Toddler Rock is an award-winning and effective early childhood music therapy-based program that has impacted thousands of children since its founding in 1999. "As past President of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I am proud of the collaboration we built with Beck Center," commented Mr. Stewart. "It's an honor to be recognized by an organization that adds so much to the cultural landscape of Northeast Ohio."

Tickets for the gala can be purchased at beckcenter.org or by calling 216.521.2540 x19. This celebration aims to raise vital funds for the programming that the region has come to love. Guests at Spotlight can expect an exciting evening of art, entertainment, sit-down dinner, live auction, and more.

Subscriptions for Beck Center's 80th season may be purchased by calling 216.521.2540 x10. The new season features four regional premieres, a locally-produced premiere, another popular collaboration with Baldwin Wallace University Music Theater program, and the return of Dorothy Silver. "We know, for the most part, that our audiences will be seeing these titles for the first time at Beck Center," remarked Artistic Director Scott Spence. "This season represents exactly what Beck Center does best."
