Part-time
Fifteen year-old nonprofit theatre organization seeks an experienced and motivated bookkeeper/office administrator. Part-time position requires a minimum of two days onsite at midtown office and other work remotely as needed with potential to grow into a larger managerial role.
The candidate should be highly organized, proactive, able to work independently and have extensive experience with nonprofit financial management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Quickbooks data entry and reconciliation; payroll processing payroll for small staff and consultants; annual budgeting, monitoring and reconciliation in Excel spreadsheets (cash flow, programmatic, organizational, etc.); preparing and processing monthly invoices and credit card expenses; assisting Accountant and Director with accounting reviews and annual audit to meet all required and necessary filing deadlines; managing accounts payable and receivables; maintaining employee records and other HR related tasks; collaborating with Development manager on grant related budgets and required government and nonprofit database maintenance; providing administrative support at select special events throughout the year; answering the company phone and maintaining filing while onsite; handling other administrative tasks as instructed by Director; and meeting with Finance Committee of the Board on a bi-monthly basis and presenting financial reports at quarterly Board meetings. Additional skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Quickbooks is a must, minimum 3-5 years experience. Ability to work in a small office environment. Strong communication skills.
