Theatre at the Center's Theatre for Young Audiences, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, IN, recognized for presenting exciting, fun and educational productions, announces their 2014-2015 season. Meet Princess Penelope and her wacky friends in The Princess and the Pea, the musical comedy running October 9 through 11; journey to Hundred Acre Woods and experience A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail, a merry musical December 1-2, 4-6 and 8-13; I Have A Dream, a captivating performance that honors the spirit of one of America's most influential leaders, held January 20 through 23; and a rendition of the classic fantasy tale Peter Pan and the Pirates, comes to life on stage April 8 through April 12.

The season kicks off with Princess Penelope and her wild friends in the musical comedy of The Princess and the Pea, running October 9 through October 11. After a stormy night, Penelope comes to the prince's castle, claiming she's a true princess. The queen decides to test her new guest by placing a pea in the bed, covered by many mattresses. Come join Princess Penelope and find out if she can pass the ultimate Princess Test. This musical rendition of the literary fairy tale is sure to educate and entertain the entire family. Attending groups will have the chance to enter The Princess and the Pea Coloring Contest and win tickets to A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail. Following the 11:15 a.m. performance on Friday, October 10, enjoy a hot dog lunch for an additional $4.50 per person.

Venture to Hundred Acre Woods in the delightful musical A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail, December 1-2, 4-6 and 8-13. Bring family and friends to celebrate the holiday season and see how both friendship and teamwork prosper as Winnie-the-Pooh and the gang come together to find Eeyore's missing tail. Kids and adults both will have lots of fun while listening to delightful songs and musical numbers. Groups in attendance have the opportunity to enter A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail Coloring Contest, with the chance to win a Winnie-the-Pooh Holiday Cookie Jar and Plush Characters! Following the 11:15 a.m. performance on Monday, December 1 and 8, and Friday, December 5 and 12, enjoy a hot dog lunch for an additional $4.50 per person.

Experience the impact of Dr. Martin Luther King in the enticing drama of the life and hardships of one of the most inspiring humanitarians of the century! I Have A Dream opens January 20 and runs through January 23. Following the arrest of Rosa Parks, Dr. King takes matters into his own hands and becomes the driving force behind the Montgomery, Alabama bus boycott. He gains national recognition as he becomes the pre-eminent leader in the Civil Rights Movement during its decade of greatest achievement. Audiences will be inspired by this incredible performance based on the powerful words of Dr. King himself. Attending groups have the opportunity to enter the I Have A Dream Essay Contest. The winner will receive a $100, $50 or $25 Youth Savings Account at the Peoples Bank in Munster, IN.

The musical adaptation of Peter Pan and the Pirates comes to Theatre at the Center April 8 through April 12. Follow Peter Pan as he battles Captain Hook and his team of swashbuckling bandits, as well as a time-ticking crocodile! Groups attending may enter the Peter Pan Coloring Contest to win Peter Pan Peanut Butter from Strack and Van Til in Munster, IN. For an additional $12, enjoy a special night for children and families with our "Prince and Princess Party", featuring a number of activities including coloring, costumes, mini makeovers and more. Dinner is also included and begins at 5 p.m., featuring a buffet of chicken tenders, fries, juice box and chocolate sundae. The performance follows at 7 p.m.

Founded in 1991, Theatre at the Center is a year-round professional theatre at its home, The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, IN. Theatre at the Center is conveniently located off I-80/94, just 35 minutes away from downtown Chicago.

All performances are one hour. School performances are weekdays at 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Story Guides are available for all productions at TheatreAtTheCenter.com - Theatre for Young Audiences. Public performances are held Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. with the exception of Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 12 at 1 p.m. for Peter Pan and the Pirates. Public performance prices are only $7.50 per student and $9.50 for adults. School group prices are $6.50 per student, adult tickets are $8.00 and groups of 100 or more are only $5.50 per student and $8.00 per adult.
