Short Story Theatre presents stories that ring true because they are true. The next storytelling event is tonight, June 11, at 7:00 p.m. at The Alley, 210 Green Bay Rd. in Highwood. Tickets are $10 at the door (cash or check).

Scott Woldman reveals how three profoundly embarrassing and inappropriate phone calls from his mother changed him forever.

Julie Isaacson, author of the cookbook/memoir "The Angry Chef, tells how to stop stewing and cook your way to post-divorce peace.

Benita Haberman shares a story about her mother and a diamond bracelet.

A special new feature is a dramatized reading of the short story, "DEAR DAD" by local author Marc Davis, performed by Jim Scott. In it, a son speaks frankly - maybe too frankly - to his father.
