The Palace Coral Gables will host award-winning film maker and photo journalist Norman H. Gershman for a two day stay, where they will present a showing of his film, BESA: The Promise, May 9-10.

The film weaves Albania's heroism in WWII through the verite journeys of two men, one of whom is Norman Gershman, a renowned Jewish-American photographer determined to document first person accounts of the Albanian Muslims who rescued Jews during the Holocaust.

More than seven years in the making, BESA: The Promise presents a powerful human drama compounded by a devastating twist. It is a story that bridges generations and religions.....uniting fathers and sons.....Muslims and Jews.

The 82-year-old Gershman is considering moving into The Palace Coral Gables, a luxury senior living community modeled after the George V Paris hotel, in the heart of the Miracle Mile. The Palace was named by the National Association of Homebuilders as the Best Community in the Country, and a Best in American Living Awards.

Background in Mr. Gershman - Norman H. Gershman was honored in Switzerland in Jan. in commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day. Ambassadors from many countries including Israel and the US attended the ceremony, along with the President of Switzerland. His film has been shown at over 100 film festivals, and his work in photojournalism has been shown at more than 350 photographic exhibitions. He doesn't believe he is retired--he's quite active at 82, and passionate about his foundation, The Eye Contact Foundation, which promotes religious and cultural tolerance among all peoples worldwide.
