Events and deals have been announced for Babes With Blades Theatre Company's all-female cast production of Shakespeare's Henry V, to be performed at City Lit Theater, 1020 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., in Chicago. Previews will be Saturday, February 18 at 8PM, Sunday, February 19 at 3PM, Friday, February 24 at 8PM, Saturday, February 25 at 8PM, and Sunday, February 26 at 3PM. The press opening isMonday, February 27 at 8PM, and the show will run Thursdays-Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3 through Saturday, April 1.

Henry V is directed by Hayley Rice with Violence Design by Kim Fukawa*. The cast features Diana Coates, Catherine Dvorak*, Delia Ford*, Kim Fukawa*, Samantha Kaufman, Gaby Labotka, Morgan Manasa*, Jennifer L. Mickelson*, Chelsea Rolfes, Alexis Randolph, Alison Vodnoy Wolf, and understudies Emily Green and Rachel Mock.

The design and production team of Henry V includes Elyse Balogh (Scenic Design), Lara Caprini (Stage Manager), Carrie Hardin (Dialect Coach), Alex "Dizzy" Hutson (Technical Director), Scott Leaton (Props Design), Matthew Reich (Sound Design), Dustin Spence (Production Manager), Rachel Sypniewski (Costume Design), and Andrea Trygstad (Lighting Design).

DEALS AND DISCOUNTS

All Performances March 2- April 1 offer 10 $10 industry tickets per night, on a first paid first reserved basis: Book online with code DAUPHIN to reserve, then show proof of industry affiliation (headshot/resume, business card, etc.) at the box office.

The Thursday performances of 3/9, 3/16, and 3/23 will be pay-what-you-can.

EVENTS

Sunday 3/5, Free post-show discussion: Surprising Shakespeare - Director Hayley Rice (Artistic Associate, First Folio Theatre) and David Rice (Co-Founder & Executive Director, First Folio Theatre) discuss adapting Shakespeare for modern times.

Thursday 3/23, Free post-show discussion: Wherefore All-Female? - Co-Artistic Directors Elyse Dawson and Kathrynne Wolf speak about the pleasures, pitfalls, and continued relevance of all-female productions of classical works.

Friday 3/31, When the curtain falls, the envelope opens! The 2017-18 winner of BWBTC's playwriting competition,Joining Sword & Pen, will be announced immediately after the performance. The winning script will undergo development in 2017-18, and premiere in fall 2018 as part of BWBTC's 21st Season.

All closing weekend, Thursday 3/30 - Saturday 4/1, BWBTC will be collecting funds in support of The Viola Project. Using the works of William Shakespeare, The Viola Project unites and empowers girls from diverse backgrounds across Chicago.
