Cher Convention 2008

August 11-12, 2008 at Caesar's Palace

Las Vegas - The Cher Foundation is holding its 5th fund raising event for the Children's Craniofacial Association with all proceeds going to improve the lives of children who suffer from facial deformities. On August 11-12, 2008 at Caesar's Palace there will be a whole lot of "Cher-ing" going on in Las Vegas. The event raises much needed funds for Children's Craniofacial Association with Cher serving as their National Spokesperson.

According the the convention website, "The Cher Convention started in 2000 as a one time event to bring fans together to celebrate 'Believe' going to Number One on the Billboard charts, and to donate the proceeds to the Children's Craniofacial Association. But, with over 700 attendees from all over the world, worldwide press, and countless emails for another convention, it has become a biennial event."

In this two day event Cher impersonators come together to support a cause that has become important to Cher since her involvement with the movie 'Mask'. Children who are born with facial deformities and victims of burns benefit from the attention and support that has been brought to this condition through fund raisers such as these with Cher herself being one of the most generous supporters of the children. Some of the funds go to help children receive psychological care to help with the intense isolation and loneliness that comes from the feeling of being shunned by their peers and those who are uncomfortable with their deformities.

It will be a miraculous day when the beauty of what's inside a person is more important than their outward appearance.

All proceeds from the Cher Convention go to the Children's Craniofacial Association with over $120,000 already given.

Donations can be made to the Children's Craniofacial Association through the CCA website at ccakids.org/forms/hlpOnlineDon.asp.

Help Cher and others like her help more children by giving!
