Benevolent Theatre has announced its third show of the season! ONIONHEADS, written by Jesse Miller and directed by Artistic Director James Bezy will be opening July 10, 2014, and running through August 2, 2014. Performances on Wed, Thurs, Fri, & Sat. at 8pm at TRAP DOOR THEATRE, 1655 W. Cortland Ave. Chicago IL. Tickets available at the door or reserve online @ brownpapertickets.com.

"Onionheads" is a tragic comedy that tells the story of youth, innocence, and survival. It follows the lives of the Tidwell brothers and the Bumpinmeyer sisters during the Oklahoma Dustbowl. It is the summer of 1935, and the shocking reality of life and death hit these youngsters as they watch the skies turn black, and they lose their farms to the relentless dust. Devastated, they travel to Californee, a "land of milk and honey," only to peel back layers of the sweet and sour, revealing more hidden family secrets. farms to the relentless dust.
