Illinois' Marriott Theatre will workshop a new musical by composer David Kreppel and lyricist Sean Grennan titled, 1ST AND TEN from March 8-9.

The Marriot also produced Grennan's previous musical, MARRIED ALIVE! which has received numerous productions across North America.

Joe Leonardo directs development workshop readings at the Mariott.

The cast of 1ST AND TEN features David Girolmo, Andrew Redlawsk, Kathy Santen, Jessie Mueller, Ann Gunne, Craig Spidle, Roger Mueller, Bernie Yvon, Ryan Reilly, Joe Tokarz, Cheryl Avery, JohAnna Miller and Erica Mac.

According to the authors of the show, "1ST & TEN is based on the true story of a struggling high school football team in a down at the heels Texas town. Facing disbandment and with no resources from the school, the school janitor, a former player himself, offers to coach the team for free to get it and his player/son through one more season."

Marriott Theatre's artistic director is Aaron Thielen and its managing director is Terry James.
