Pay-What-You-Will Performances Announced at Syracuse Stage

Syracuse Stage, Central New York's premiere professional theatre, will host one pay-what-you-will performance for each show in its 2017/2018 season. There will be 76 tickets available for whatever price patrons wish to pay. The first three pay-what-you-will performances are on the following dates:

  • "The Three Musketeers": Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
  • "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time": Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m.
  • "The Wizard of Oz": Sunday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.

"We believe everyone should be able to attend theatre and we're working to make sure Syracuse Stage is accessible to all," said Bob Hupp, artistic director at Syracuse Stage. "Sometimes cost is a barrier, but we hope everyone will make Syracuse Stage a part of their lives. In today's society we are so often isolated, yet the theatre provides a rare opportunity for us to have a communal experience together."

Pay-what-you-will tickets must be claimed in person at the Box Office, 820 E. Genesee St., Syracuse, on the day of the performance, subject to availability. The Box Office opens at 10 a.m. and will remain open through the start of the show. There is a limit of two tickets per person.

The pay-what-you-will performance dates for the three shows in the second half of the season, "Next to Normal," "A Raisin in the Sun" and "The Magic Play," will be announced at a later date.

Syracuse Stage is Central New York's premier professional theatre in residence at Syracuse University.
