Isaac Mizrahi, Suzanne Vega and More Slated for Cafe Carlyle's Winter Season

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel has announced the Café Carlyle's winter 2017 season, which features the venue debuts of TV star, comedian and writer Jill Kargman; fashion icon, author and pop culture fixture Isaac Mizrahi; and seminal singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega; as well as the return of audience favorites John Lloyd Young and Joan Osborne.

Jill Kargman, the creator, writer, producer and star of the scripted Bravo comedy Odd Mom Out, makes her Café Carlyle debut with Stairway to Cabaret, January 17 - January 28. On Odd Mom Out, Ms. Kargman plays a satirical version of herself navigating the hilarity of raising children on the Upper East Side. She is also a New York Times best-selling author, most recently releasing her comedic essay collection, Sprinkle Glitter on my Grave in September 2016 via Random House. At Café Carlyle, Jill Kargman will perform her one-woman show singing heavy metal songs in cabaret style.

Isaac Mizrahi makes his Café Carlyle debut with Does This Song Make Me Look Fat? from January 31 - February 11. A one-stop-shop for those who like their cabaret mixed with a smattering of Weight Watchers meeting, Mizrahi will perform classics such as "Lotus Blossom" and "Figure Eight" while telling (mostly true) stories in his quest to be loved by his audiences. Mizrahi has been a leader in the fashion industry for 30 years. Not merely for his work as a designer but also for his crossover presence into pop culture. He was the subject and co-creator of the award-winning documentary Unzipped, trailblazed the concept of masstige through a groundbreaking partnership with Target, has hosted his own television talk show, written two books, and has made countless appearances in movies and television. Currently he serves as a weekly judge on Project Runway: All-Stars and is at work on a memoir due out in 2017. He has designed costumes for prestigious ballet and opera companies and Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. Mizrahi has performed cabaret at Joe's Pub, West Bank Café and City Winery and is thrilled to making his debut at Café Carlyle.

Having won critical praise for his previous Café Carlyle residencies, Tony Award-winner John Lloyd Young returns with an all-new show, February 14 - 25. Stephen Holden of The New York Times has written that Young "has a disciplined one-in-a-million high tenor shading into falsetto that he can direct through the stratosphere." John Lloyd Young originated the role of Frankie Valli in Broadway's Tony Award-winning Best Musical and international hit, Jersey Boys. By also starring in Clint Eastwood's film adaptation of the show, Mr. Young joins a select few actors in the entertainment industry that took their Tony-winning stage role to the big screen.

Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Joan Osborne returns to Café Carlyle, February 28 - March 11. Joan Osborne is a multi-platinum recording artist whose career was jump-started with the great success of her major label debut album, Relish. The album produced the massive MTV and international smash single, "One of Us." The New York Times praised her Café Carlyle debut featuring the songs of Bob Dylan, and called her a "fiercely intelligent, no-nonsense singer-songwriter." At Café Carlyle, she will be joined by an acoustic accompaniment.

One of contemporary music's most iconic singer/songwriters, Suzanne Vega, makes her Café Carlyle debut, March 14 - 25. Ms. Vega recently released a new album paying homage to renowned Southern novelist Carson McCullers. On the release, Vega inhabits McCullers' extraordinary character and renders the life of a woman who, revolted by the politics and racism of her upbringing in the American South, arrived in New York in her early twenties and became one of the literary lights of the 20th century. The songs, which she co-wrote with longtime friend and theatrical collaborator Duncan Sheik,richly capture the essence of McCuller's insightful words and forward-thinking philosophies on gender and love. At Café Carlyle, she'll perform selections from this release as well as favorites from her expansive discography.

Ricky Nelson Remembered: Starring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson will celebrate one of America's first teen idols, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Ricky Nelson for one night only, February 3 (late show). Ricky Nelson emerged from The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet to establish himself as one of the most important rock artists and influential musicians of the last 50 years. The Nelson family legacy continues as Ricky's twins Matthew and Gunnar Nelson present an interactive, multi-media rock & roll concert experience, taking the audience on a musical journey down memory lane. They'll perform their father's greatest hits including "Poor Little Fool," "Hello Mary Lou" and "Travelin' Man" among many others.

Throughout the season, Woody Allen will continue to perform Monday nights with thE Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band.
