ABC's 'Lost' has created a lot of buzz this season as the complicated series readies to end its six season run, with rabid fans buzzing on social networking sites as they try figuring out how Jack, Sawyer and the rest of the tropical island castaways will end up.

And ABC is banking on that rabid, although increasingly shrinking, fan base to keep a focused eye on the 'Lost' series finale, set to air as a two-hour special on Sunday, May 23, because the asking price for an on-air advertisement is pretty high, reports Ad Age.

Media buyers told Ad Age that a 30-second spot during the 'Lost' series finale will cost approximately $900,000, a number ABC is refusing to comment on. Compared to the $213,563 cost of a spot on 'Lost' last year, ABC is obviously hoping that advertisers will want to be part of a television event.

'Lost' "is different, and people talk about it, and it's not just some sitcom coming to an end," one expert told Ad Age. "It's very much an event."
