Disney Channel's first-ever lesbian couple was introduced on Sunday night's episode of GOOD LUCK CHARLIE. Desi Lydic as Susan and Lilli Birdsell as Cheryl made their debut as parents of Amy and Bob Duncan's daughter's new friend from preschool. The two moms stop by the Duncan house to drop their daughter off for the date.

The same-sex storyline was announced last year and a Disney Channel spokesperson told TV Guide the choice was part of Disney's continuing effort to "to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness."

About the show:

In Season Four of the Emmy Award-nominated family sitcom "Good Luck Charlie," the Duncan Family decide to build their dream house after the family home is devastated by termites. Now a family of seven, the Duncans are busy juggling careers, college, high school, preschool, friends, baby bottles and diapers.

The ever expanding brood of children has meant changes for the family: Teddy and Spencer try their best to remain good friends, PJ enrolls in cooking school, Gabe develops a crush on his new neighbor and the bug business isn't so great for Bob. Meanwhile, Teddy has fallen for Bob's new employee, Amy juggles life as a stay-at-home mother to five, Teddy works on her college application process and Charlie celebrates turning four years old.

Easy-going older brother PJ has moved out on his own and enrolled in cooking school. However he still manages to fill time with crazy antics as he grows up and takes on more adult responsibilities.

Starring are Bridgit Mendler ("Lemonade Mouth" and "Wizards of Waverly Place") as Teddy Duncan; Jason Dolley ("Hatching Pete," "Minutemen" and "Cory in the House") as PJ Duncan; Bradley Steven Perry ("Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure") as Gabe Duncan; Leigh-Allyn Baker ("Will & Grace") as Amy Duncan; Eric Allan Kramer ("CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "My Name Is Earl") as Bob Duncan; Mia Talerico as Charlie Duncan and Logan Moreau as Toby Duncan. Raven Goodwin, Shane Harper, Micah Williams and Patricia Belcher return to reprise their roles as Ivy, Spencer, Emmett and Mrs. Dabney.
