"World News Tonight" improved year to year in Total Viewers (+10% - 7.912 vs. 7.189 million on w/o 8/18/14). The ABC evening newscast has delivered increases over the same week last year for the last 16 weeks. In addition, "World News Tonight" grew the most in overall viewers from the year-ago week compared to "CBS Evening News" (-3%) and "NBC Nightly News" (+2%). "World News Tonight" built on its prior week (7.684 million and 1.810, respectively, on w/o 8/17/15) in Total Viewers (+3%) and Adults 25-54 (+1%), posting its most-watched week in 2 months - since w/o 6/15/15. "World News Tonight" slashed its year-to-year Total Viewer margin with "NBC Nightly News" by more than half (-61% - 334,000 vs. 856,000). Season to date, "World News Tonight" is averaging 482,000 more viewers, compared to the same time frame last season (8.341 million vs. 7.859 million), while "NBC Nightly News" is posting a 221,000 average loss (8.691 million vs. 8.912 million). For the 2nd year in a row, "World News Tonight" is improving versus the same point last season in both Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 25-54 (+1%).
