A rare occurance happened on last night's episode of JEOPARDY when only one of the three competitiors made it to the final round of the long-running quiz show. The event was due to the fact that at the end of the double Jeopardy round, two of the three contestants had a negative score. Watch the clip below!

That left returning champ Kristin Sausville, a 34-year-old stay-at-home-mom and school volunteer from Delaware to compete against... well herself!

Upon returning from the final commercial break, viewers saw Sausville standing by herself at the competitior's podiums. Joked host Alex Trebek, "This was not one of our greatest days. Kristin, I think you're going to win."

"The vibe in the studio was shock," Sausville told PEOPLE "I hadn't realized that both of the other contestants were in the negative. My husband Justin was in the audience and later told me that there had been a lot of questions as to whether it had happened before."

Sausville shared, "It was more nerve-wracking to be the only person on stage," she says. "On the one hand, it was nice not to have to worry about what anyone else was wagering, but at the same time, it meant that all of the contestant coordinators, compliance people, and stage crew were standing around me."

Ironically, the event has happened only once before, to a player who ended up competing in the Tournament of Champions against Sausville's husband!

While Sausville incorrectly answered the final question, she still took home $6,800 to add to a two-day total of $31,601.
