Thanks to ever-feuding judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, American Idol seems to have become more about the cat-fights than the sing-offs.

On today's edition of LA's KTLA-TV, Carey's husband, Nick Cannon, opened about the pair's fighting, stating that his wife "didn't sign up for that." He also believes that things could have been mended between the two divas much earlier in the season, but "someone behind the scenes [was] perpetuating" their issues.

A few weeks ago, The Hollywood Reporter announced that IDOL execs were intent with replacing Carey midway through the season with former judge Jennifer Lopez. Within hours, Minaj was ready to fan the fire, tweeting: "All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that." She added "What u SHOULD be doing (wit your messy ass) is asking why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter."

At this time, Minaj and Carey have not signed on for IDOL's next season.
