Jerry O'Connell announced via Youtube that he has joined the cast of the VERONICA MARS movie as "Sheriff Dan Lamb", the older brother of Don Lamb (Michael Muhney). Click below to watch O'Connell talk about his latest role!

Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas began one of the most successful Kickstarter projects in history this March in order to bring his big screen adaptation of the popular TV series to fruition. The kickstarter raised over $5.7 million - thanks to the show's Cult following, the film hit its goal of $2 million in just half-a-day into the one-month deadline.

Thomas outlined a portion of the film's potential plot, writing: "Life has taken Veronica away from Neptune. In the years since spoiling Keith's chances to be reelected sheriff, Veronica hasn't taken a case. But something big is about to bring her back home and back to her calling. My goal is to include as many of your favorite characters as possible. It is, after all, time for Veronica's 10-year High School reunion."

The film is set for a 2014 release and features Kristen Bell, Jason Dohring, Percy Daggs III, Chris Lowell, TINA MAJORINO, Ryan Hansen, Enrico Colantoni, Andrea Estella and more.

O'Connell will be seen in CBS' upcoming comedy series We Are Men in the fall. Past TV credits include Burning Love, The Defenders, Do Not Disturb, Carpoolers, Crossing Jordan, Las Vegas, Sliders, Camp Wilder and My Secret Identity. O'Connell's upcoming films include The Lookalike and Space Station 76.
