The project joins a number of recent live-action makeover's by the studio. This weekend, a new version of Cinderella, starring LILY James will open. The studio has had strong success with its live-action versions, including Burton's reimagined Alice in Wonderland, which grossed $1.02 billion and Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie as the iconic villainess, which earned $758.4 million worldwide.
