The Food Network Shares August 2018 Highlights

Food Network gets competitive this August testing contestants of all ages and abilities on their cooking, grilling and baking skills! Kicking off the action on Sunday, August 5th at 8pm is the premiere of Ultimate Summer Cook-Off hosted by Eddie Jackson and featuring six competitors taking on America's summertime favorites in a bid for the grand prize and backyard bragging rights. Then, it is the grand finale of FOOD NETWORK STAR when Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay crown the winner on Sunday, August 5th at 9pm. Then, a new season of KIDS BAKING CHAMPIONSHIP begins on Monday, August 6th at 9pm, when hosts Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman give nine young bakers the chance to compete for the title and $25,000 prize. Cupcake designer Ashley Foxen is taking viewers inside her New York City bakery, where she is known for making some of the most unique and imaginative cupcakes in the world, on the new seriesReality Cupcakes premiering with back to back episodes on Monday, August 6th at 10pm and 10:30pm. Premiering Thursday, August 2nd at 10pm - "Fields of Greens"

Worlds collide when Irish firecracker Chef Maeve Rochford squares off against Indian cuisine enthusiast Chef Navjot Arora. It's up to two of Food Network's finest, Alex Guarnaschelli and Damaris Phillips, to decide who will confront Bobby Flay.

Premiering Sunday, August 5th at 10pm - "Winning in My Dreams"

Pop singer Debbie Gibson and The Kitchen's Katie Lee team up to bring a winning tune to Bobby Flay's arena. Dutch-born Ype Von Hengst and Greek expert Chef William Wright compete to see which chef is a pitch-perfect contender to take on Bobby.

Premiering Thursday, August 9th at 10pm - "Never Give Up"

One shot at Bobby Flay wasn't enough for Italian chef Pasquale Cozzolino and Canada's infamous Ivana Raca, who are back for more. Iron Chefs Alex Guarnaschelli and Stephanie Izard give the play-by-play and dole out their final shot at redemption.

Premiering Thursday, August 16th at 10pm - "Chocolate Victory"

Bobby Flay brings his A game when Mexican cuisine chef Katy Smith and Denver chef Jose Guerrero show up with talent to spare. The pressure is on for Iron Chef Michael Symon and Valerie Bertinelli to choose their contender.

Premiering Thursday, August 23rd at 10pm - "Feel The Judgment"

The tables are turned when past BEAT Bobby Flay judges return to THE KITCHEN to take matters into their own hands. Laura Vitale and Jet Tila judge the judges to deliver the verdict on who will serve Bobby justice.

Premiering Thursday, August 30th at 10pm - "Fit to Flay"

Chopped's Scott Conant and actress Jane Seymour team up to make Bobby Flay sweat. They've recruited a couple of big-name chefs, New York City's Nate Appleman and Italy's own Silvia Barban, to beat Flay to the finish line.

Chopped Grill Masters

Premiering Tuesday, August 7th 9pm - "Grill Masters: North Carolina"

Pride is on the line as four regional rivals all deeply devoted to North Carolina-style barbecue battle it out in a thrilling, grilling heat to see who will represent their region in the $50,000 Grill Masters grand finale against winners from Texas, Memphis and Kansas City. Will fish in the first basket throw the pork-loving pitmasters off their game? The three chefs who move on to the entrée round are surprised to have to work with liver. Finally, some Southern favorites in the dessert basket give the last two Tar Heel State competitors a head start in bringing Carolina flavors to their sweet plates.

Premiering Tuesday, August 14th at 9pm - "Grill Masters: Memphis"

Four chefs who live and breathe Memphis-style barbecue compete for a coveted spot in the $50,000 Grill Masters grand finale, where they will face off against CHAMPIONS from Texas, North Carolina and Kansas City. Tennessee tradition abounds in the first basket, which includes a creative take on a messy, shareable comfort food, and the chefs are stunned to see a gigantic sandwich in the second basket. Peaches in the dessert basket seem like a gift, but will the last two Memphis-style chefs be able to make them shine on their plates?

Premiering Tuesday, August 21st at 9pm - "Grill Masters: Texas"

Four passionate grill masters compete in a fiery battle to become the lone representative from the Lone Star State to advance to the $50,000 Grill Masters grand finale and face winners from Memphis, Kansas City and North Carolina. A creepy, crawly, crunchy surprise challenges the chefs in the first round, and a state fair treat and an iconic Texas meat meet in the second basket. The final basket holds Texas-inspired ingredients, but can the last two competitors find a good use for them in their desserts?

Premiering Tuesday, August 28th at 9pm - "Grill Masters: Finale Showdown" - SEASON FINALE!

Four Grill Masters CHAMPIONS representing their regional styles -- Texas, Memphis, North Carolina and Kansas City -- return to compete in this do-or-die grand finale with $50,000 and an enormous amount of pride on the line. A wild, smoky ingredient in the first basket kicks things off, and then the judges expect magnificent meat-and-potatoes entree plates from the three remaining champs. The adrenaline-filled grand finale dessert round featuring sugary, festive ingredients will decide which champion can pull off a sweet victory and walk away with the prize.

Comfort Food Tour

Premiering Saturday, August 4th at 8pm - "Bacon on Top"

Mark Anderson and Ryan Fey roll into San Diego, and head straight to chocolate bar and bistro Eclipse for a one-of-a-kind creation the likes of which they've never seen -- the Egg and Bacon Cinnaroll. In Chicago, the guys visit OiiStarr, where they savor a bowl of the crazy popular Spicy Garlic Shoyu Ramen with a side of the best Asian buns the Windy City has to offer. In Miami, Mark and Ryan are treated like VIPs when they're granted access to a super-secret menu item at a Cuban bistro -- a deep-fried mother of a dish that mere mortals can only dream of finishing.

Premiering Saturday, August 4th at 8:30pm - "A Symphony of Sauces" - SEASON FINALE!

Mark Anderson and Ryan Fey help make the most coveted dish in the state of Ohio -- perfectly fried veal schnitzel smothered in scrumptious brown gravy -- while visiting Schmidt's Sausage Haus in Columbus. The guys ascend to taco heaven after eating a one-of-a-kind Al Pastor Taco with super juicy chicken and all the fixin's at Puesto in La Jolla, California. Still on the prowl, they make a stop at Pondicheri -- a cutting-edge Indian restaurant in Houston, Texas -- where the Chickpea Masala Fried Chicken is worthy of a spot on the must-eat bucket list of even the most discerning palate.

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives & Triple D Nation

Premiering Friday, August 3rd at 9pm - "Fusion of Flavors"

On this trip, Guy Fieri digs into a Fusion of flavors across the country. In Chicago, a saucy spot mashes up Latin and Asian, putting a unique spin on paella and posole. A comfort food joint in Seattle fires things up with NASHVILLE hot chicken. And a place in Kona, Hawaii, puts out a mix of island and mainland with their guava ribs and tropical pizza.

Premiering Friday, August 10th at 9pm - "Tasty Traditions"

This trip, Guy Fieri dives into dishes steeped in tasty tradition. In Seattle, a funky spot makes their name with scratch-made Russian piroshki. A tucked-away joint in Kona serves up a bite of culture with their authentic Hawaiian cuisine. And in Chicago, an old-school Jewish deli dishes out their specialties cafeteria-style the same way they have since the 1940s.

Premiering Friday, August 17th at 9pm - "Triple D Nation: Sammies, Snacks and Seafood"

Guy Fieri is kicking it old school in Seattle as he pops into one of his favorite places from the very first season of DDD to see what new Greek goodies they're dishing up. In Minneapolis, Cuban cuisine has really taken off since DDD came to visit, and two dudes in Portland, are still cranking out crazy sandwich concoctions all over the city.

Premiering Friday, August 24th at 9pm - "Triple D Nation: Surf and Turf"

It's a mix of land and sea as Guy Fieri pops into a few favorite spots across the country. In Portland, a chef full of personality is still making people smile with seafood for breakfast, lunch and dinner. EAST MEETS WEST when Guy revisits a place in Miami known for their Asian funk Fusion and checks out what the chef is doing to Chinese food these days. And in Minneapolis, a lobster-loving chef has taken his passion for the crustacean to a whole other level.

Premiering Friday, August 31st at 9pm - "Far East Flavorfest"

Guy Fieri cruises the States to check out some Far-East flavors. In Seattle, a funky chicken spot puts an Asian spin on poultry; a family-run gem dishes out righteous Thai specialties on the big island of Hawaii; and in Chicago, a modern Korean joint spices up wings and puts a unique twist on poutine.

Premiering Sunday, August 5th at 9pm - "The Newest Star" - SEASON FINALE!

Guy's Grocery Games

Premiering Wednesday, August 1st at 9pm - "Heavyweight Teams"

Two GGG juggernauts, Alex Guarnaschelli and Rocco DiSpirito, return to compete with their teams of Flavortown regulars, including Eric Greenspan, Antonia Lofaso, Carl Ruiz and Justin Warner, in Guy Fieri's most hard-hitting games. In each round, one chef from each team will face off in crazy, tailor-made games to win an advantage for their team in the following round. In the end, only one team will win and be crowned GGG's Supermarket Heavyweight champions.

Premiering Wednesday, August 8th at 9pm - "Supermarket Rematches"

Guy Fieri welcomes competitors back to Flavortown to settle the score in three head-to-head rounds of rematches. First, two sandwich masters who tied in their first competition return to find out once and for all whose sandwich is the best. Then, a vegan and a meat-lover face off to make their best interpretations of a high-end dinner. Finally, two families battle it out to see who can make the best Sunday supper.

Premiering Wednesday, August 15th at 9pm - "Food Scientists"

It's a night of culinary experiments, modern techniques and out-of-this-world plating when Guy Fieri brings four food scientists to Flavortown to showcase their molecular gastronomy skills. In the first round, Guy gives the chefs the basic ingredients of a hamburger and asks them to flip it into a modern dinner. Next, the chefs must make a twist on an American classic with restrictions dictated by the Food Pyramid. Then, in the final round, the chefs can only shop in either the odd or even aisles when making their wow-worthy dish for a $20,000 payday!

Premiering Wednesday, August 22nd at 9pm - "Comfort Food Cook-off"

Guy Fieri brings four comfort food experts to Flavortown to compete in games that will push them out of their comfort zone. First, the chefs must make their signature dish while incorporating a list of mandatory ingredients. Then, they must prepare an elevated comfort classic using a mystery canned ingredient. Finally, the remaining chefs make a regional comfort dish on a tight budget to earn a shopping spree worth up to $20,000.

Premiering Wednesday, August 29th at 9pm - "Meals from the Middle Madness"

Guy Fieri tests the limits of four chefs by allowing them to shop only in the middle aisles of the store. That means no fresh produce, no fresh meat and no fresh dairy. First, Guy asks the chefs to make a breakfast without fresh eggs. Then, he asks for a hot lunch, but the chefs have to guess the price of a fresh protein in order to get it. Finally, the chefs have to make a family dinner incorporating ingredients from Guy's imperfect produce section. Only one chef will RISE from the middle and come out on top for a shopping spree worth up to $20,000.

Kids Baking Championship - Premiering Monday, August 6th at 9pm- SEASON PREMIERE!

Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman lead nine talented young bakers through seven weeks of difficult challenges designed to show off techniques and baking chops like gravity-defying cakes and outrageous ice cream sandwiches. One lucky kid baker will walk away with $25,000, a spot in Food Network Magazine and the title of Kid Baking Champion!

Premiering Monday, August 6th at 9pm - "#selfieclairs"

A brand-New Group of kid bakers introduce themselves via delicious "Selfieclairs"! Using a SELFIE as inspiration, the bakers create eclairs in assigned flavors and then decorate them to serve as a pate a choux pastry introduction.

Premiering Monday, August 13th at 9pm - "Defying Gravity"

Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman challenge the kid bakers to make magic by creating cakes with gravity-defying illusions on them. Whose extraordinary cake will RISE to the top?

Premiering Monday, August 20th at 9pm - "Ice Screamers"

In a moment of serendipity, Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman create an ice cream sandwich with a doughnut that gives them a great idea! The kid bakers will have to turn unexpected baked items like waffles, blondies and cupcakes into outrageous ice cream sandwiches.

The Great Food Truck Race

Premiering Thursday, August 2nd at 9pm - "Shrimp and Glitz"

The teams hit Fremont Street in Las Vegas, and Tyler gives them a challenge using one of the most popular items on Vegas menus: shrimp. Each truck must create their own ultimate shrimp dish to sell right on Fremont Street, and the team that makes the most money wins a prime parking spot for selling the next day. Then Tyler and special guest Elizabeth Blau visit the teams and offer business and culinary advice. The teams sell their signature dishes on the streets of Vegas, and the least successful truck is eliminated.

Premiering Thursday, August 9th at 9pm- "An Oasis in the Desert"

The trucks travel to Phoenix and meet Tyler at a Sonic Drive-In for a blind taste test and original savory dish challenge inspired by Sonic's signature drinks. One team member is left operating his truck solo when his teammates leave the race, and the full day's sales in Phoenix is a close one, with the top four teams totals separated by less than $60. At Rawhide Ranch, the truck that made the least money is named and the four remaining teams move forward.

Premiering Thursday, August 16th at 9pm -"Bordertown Boom"

The trucks arrive to the Old West Town of Yuma and head to the historic Arizona Territory Prison, where prisoners from all over THE WILD WEST were sent. Tyler gives the teams an artichokes and bacon relay challenge, then they must add an original dish starring the two ingredients to their menu and start selling. The residents of Yuma show up strong, with lines of people twenty deep waiting for truck specialties. After a day of massive sales, one team is eliminated and the final three trucks head to the next destination.

Premiering Thursday, August 23rd at 9pm - "First Dates"

The final three teams head to Coachella Valley where in less than 24 hours, thousands of country music fans will be arriving for a massive festival. Tyler educates the team on Medjool dates, and after each team pits a pound of dates and sprints off in their truck, Tyler calls with another challenge: each truck must create and sell an original date dish to be judged by date growers Albert Keck and Melinda Dougherty. Sales spike during the festival and the race is neck and neck, but only two trucks move on to the finale.

Premiering Thursday, August 30th at 9pm - "The Whole Enchilada" - SEASON FINALE!

The final two teams head back to Los Angeles, where Tyler welcomes them to the historic Pueblo de Los Angeles - the epicenter of L.A.'s Mexican heritage and culture. He introduces Bricia Lopez, co-owner of James Beard-award winning restaurant Guelagetza, and they explain the Mexican ingredients and flavors the trucks will be using in their final stop. First, the teams must create a dish using chayote, then Tyler and Bricia determine which team uses the ingredient best. For the final day selling, habanero peppers are the must-use ingredient and both trucks pull out all the stops for the win - but only one team is awarded the $50,000 grand prize.

Reality Cupcakes - Premiering Monday, August 6th at 10pm & 10:30pm - SERIES PREMIERE!

Cupcake designer Ashley Foxen is known for making some of the most unique cupcakes in the world. At her bakery in New York City, Ashley and her family create mouthwatering works of art that resemble anything their clients can imagine. Their bite-sized creations allow delighted clients to have their cupcake and eat it, too.

Premiering Monday, August 6th at 10pm - "All That Katz"

Ashley Foxen debuts her pastrami-on-rye cupcakes for a thrilled crowd at the 130th anniversary party for Katz's Deli. Later, a super-chic succulent arrangement is created for a Hannah Storm get together. Finally, the Foxen family delivers mouthwatering lamb chop cupcakes complete with a side of mint jelly at a backyard barbecue.

Premiering Monday, August 6th at 10:30pm - "Thanks a Latte"

Ashley Foxen's cupcakes aren't just tasty -- they're magical! Crowds at Ripley's Believe It or Not! are stunned by a magician's trick using a shrunken head cupcake. Later, the gang brews up a latte made of cake at a local COFFEE SHOP whose patrons are delighted when they bite right through the cup. Finally, a bachelorette party toasts with margaritas and burrito cupcakes over brunch.

Premiering Monday, August 13th at 10pm - "Cupsteaks!"

The Reality Cupcakes team serves up some of the zaniest treats around! Ashley Foxen starts by tricking the owners of a New York City steakhouse with red velvet T-bone steak cupcakes. Later, the Foxens fool some kids at the Staten Island Children's Museum by making yummy life-like cockroaches and tarantulas. Finally, the team from the Billion Oyster project orders a cupcake seafood tower with oyster cupcakes and cake shrimp cocktail.

Premiering Monday, August 13th at 10:30pm - "Killer Cupcakes"

Ashley Foxen's cakes jump right off the plate at a rooftop SHARK WEEK party. The Foxens then make spring roll cupcakes for an important fashion event hosted by fashion icon Nicole Miller. Finally, the hit Broadway musical SCHOOL OF ROCK orders up a wacky school lunch in the form of peanut butter and jelly cupcakes!

Premiering Monday, August 20th at 10pm - "Cupcake Comfort Food"

Ashley Foxen makes amazing hot wing and macaroni and cheese cupcakes so realistic the Fleet Week sailors returning home can't decide if they're eating appetizers or desserts! She then heads to Times Square where she serves a cupcake twist on the classic New York pizza slice with famous running back David Johnson. Then in preparation of the upcoming basketball season, the folks from Excel Sports Management treat the new recruits to a backyard barbecue with corn on the cob and grilled chicken cupcakes.

Premiering Monday, August 20th at 10:30pm - "Give a Dog a Cupcake"

Ashley Foxen makes dog-bone cupcakes for puppies and their owners at a New York City dog cafe. Later, a local influencer hosts a prom throwback PARTY ON a double-decker bus and the team from Reality Cupcakes is there for the occasion serving up edible boutonnieres, corsages and even crown cupcakes for the king and queen. Finally, some dancing stars order cupcake canapes for their soiree.

Premiering Monday, August 27th at 10pm - "Cupcakes on Parade!"

It's summertime in NYC and Ashley Foxen is serving up some radical steampunk cupcakes at the famous Coney Island Mermaid Parade! Po' boy cupcakes will then be served at Brooklyn's Smorgasburg outdoor food festival and some grilled cheese cupcakes will be taken to Central Park.

Premiering Monday, August 27th at 10:30pm - "Dirt, Grease and Cupcakes"

Ashley Foxen and the gang serve up a 1950s greaser party complete with milkshake cupcakes! Later, the zany fans of the Philadelphia Union order up some Philly pretzel cupcakes and a Ben Franklin skull cupcake. Finally, the wackiest twist on a twist is when vegetarian chef Amanda orders up turkey drumstick and fried chicken cupcakes for her whole staff!

Ultimate Summer Cook-Off - Premiering Sunday, August 5th at 8pm - SERIES PREMIERE!

Every summer, cooks across the country head outside to cook and entertain for three glorious, sun-filled months. But what happens when 6 of the most talented chefs enter the backyard? Next level hot dogs, hamburgers and lobster rolls! In this arced, four-episode competition series hosted by Eddie Jackson, competitors take on America's summertime favorites and transform them as they compete for cook-out supremacy and the $25,000 grand prize.

Premiering Sunday, August 5th at 8pm - "All-American Party"

Eddie Jackson welcomes six spectacular chefs to the SUMMER HOUSE for the ultimate all-American showdown. First up, the chefs have 30 minutes to whip up their best backyard burger and each chef must randomly choose a cooler with an ingredient to use in their dish. Judges Damaris Phillips and Jamika Pessoa are joined by Mark Anderson and Ryan Fey to choose the best backyard burger, and the winner receives a key advantage in the next round. In round two, the chefs make another quintessential American summer food -- hot dogs! They have 60 MINUTES to create one fully loaded hot dog and one fully unexpected hot dog. In the end, the judges will send one chef home for the summer, while the rest continue on in pursuit of the $25,000 grand prize.

Premiering Sunday, August 12th at 8pm - "Seafood Spectacular"

Eddie Jackson reveals the theme to the five remaining chefs: seafood! For their first challenge, the chefs have 30 minutes to prepare an outrageous six-foot-long lobster roll. Judges Damaris Phillips and Jamika Pessoa are joined by Lazarus Lynch to choose their favorite lobster roll, and the winning chef gets access to the special cooler in the second heat. Next up, Eddie challenges the chefs to present the judges with a 60-minute seafood feast. At the end of the round, the judges send one chef packing, while the final four move one step closer to $25,000.

Premiering Sunday, August 19th at 8pm - "Summer Vacation"

The four remaining chefs return to the summer house, and Eddie Jackson sets up the theme: summer vacation! For the first challenge, the chefs have 30 minutes to take one tropical fruit and serve it two ways, but no two chefs can use the same fruit. Judges Damaris Phillips and Jamika Pessoa are joined by Genius Kitchen's Courtney Rada to pick which chef used their tropical fruit the best. The winning chef gains access to the special ingredient cooler in the second heat, where they'll have 60 MINUTES to prepare an entire summer dinner with a popular travel destination theme. One chef's summer vacation ends, and the last three chefs move on to the finale and a chance to win $25,000.

Premiering Sunday, August 26th at 8pm - "Ultimate Summer Party" - SEASON FINALE!

Eddie Jackson greets the last three chefs for the big finale and tells them that they'll be preparing the ultimate summer party. In their first challenge, the chefs have 30 minutes to create three kabobs with summer party themes and one chef will get skewered early by judges Damaris Phillips and Jamika Pessoa, who are joined by barbecue experts Susie Bulloch and Cameron Treu. In the second and final heat, the two remaining chefs have 60 MINUTES to create an elevated dinner and dessert for the ultimate summer dinner party, but the only heat source they can use is the grill. In the end, one chef wins the Ultimate Summer Cook-Off and $25,000!

Worst Cooks in America - Premiering Sunday, August 12th at 9pm - SEASON PREMIERE!

Chefs Anne Burrell and Robert Irvine are back to lead two teams of America's worst cooks through a rigorous culinary boot camp. They'll have seven weeks to transform 14 hopeless recruits into kitchen stars, and guest judges including David Burtka, Daphne Oz and Jason Smith will help them narrow the field. In the end, only one recruit will win the grand prize of $25,000

Premiering Sunday, August 12th at 9pm - "By Land and Sea"

Fourteen of the WORST COOKS IN AMERICA enter culinary boot camp with dreams of putting their KITCHEN NIGHTMARES behind them. Anne Burrell and Robert Irvine want to see what they're dealing with, so they ask the recruits to make their signature dishes, with truly disastrous results. After being sorted into teams, the recruits dive right into the deep end of THE KITCHEN by learning to make a surf and turf dish. The recruits with the worst dishes on each team are sent home.

Premiering Sunday, August 19th at 9pm - "Hibachi Heroes"

The recruits enter boot camp and find it has been transformed into everyone's favorite game show, Family Food! The teams go head to head in trivia rounds and culinary tasks testing their knowledge of the kitchen. The recruits watch a Teppanyaki chef perform dazzling tricks over a grill, and then Anne Burrell and Robert Irvine teach them how to make a hibachi-style meal for the main dish challenge. The recruits who light up THE KITCHEN will continue on, but those who stumble will go home in a blaze.

Premiering Sunday, August 26th at 9pm - "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner"

Anne Burrell and Robert Irvine decide that it's time for the recruits to spread their wings. For the skill drill, they must work in teams to identify the ingredients of five mother sauces and then create their own chicken with pan sauce dishes for their chef. The main dish challenge finds the chefs teaching their recruits to make fried chicken and cornbread, and the recruits who struggle are forced to fly the coop.
