Telemundo's 2015 BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC AWARDS Delivers Most-Watched Broadcast in History

The broadcast of TELEMUNDO's 2015 Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm® ranked as the highest-rated ever in network history delivering an average of 2,856,000 total viewers and 1,461,000 adults 18-49, according to Nielsen. The spectacular show, hosted by actress and TV host Gaby Espino and "La Voz Kids" Coach Pedro Fernandez and featuring top musical acts such as Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Romeo Santos, Santana, Juanes, Afrojack, Luis Fonsi and Ne-Yo, ranked as the #1 show across all of Spanish-language prime time among adults 18-49 and 18-34; it also reached a cumulative audience of 6,407,000 total viewers and 3,362,000 adults 18-49. The show ranked #1 in its time period in New York, Miami, Houston and Phoenix among adults 18-49, regardless of language. Preceding the main show, "La Alfombra de los Premios Billboard" delivered its best-ever performance among total viewers averaging 1,692,000; it also delivered 750,000 among adults 18-49.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm®, which aired on Telemundo and NBC UNIVERSO, was the #1 most social Spanish-language show across all broadcast and cable networks and program types with 180,000 tweets and 52,000 unique authors. The hashtag #Billboards2015 trended worldwide on Twitter, generating over 315,000 instances. Over 35,000 viewers participated in livestreaming through Periscope, Meerkat and Telemundo.com. Promotion on Facebook generated over 476,000 engagements, becoming a worldwide trending topic. In April, show content reached over 900,000 users, a 15% increase from 2014.

Top honors went to the "King of Bachata," Romeo Santos who received ten Billboard Latin Music Awards, including Artist of the Year; Songwriter of the Year; Producer of the Year; Top Latin Album of the Year; and Tropical Album of the Year; among others. Enrique Iglesias was honored with nine awards including Latin Pop Songs Artist of the Year, Solo; Latin Pop Album of the Year; and Latin Pop Albums Artist of the Year, Solo. After spending a record 41 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart, the most weeks at No. 1 in the chart's 28-year history, Enrique Iglesias' song "Bailando" featuring Descemer Bueno and Gente De Zona garnered six awards to each artist including Latin Pop Song of the Year; Digital Song of the Year; Streaming Song of the Year; Hot Latin Song of the Year; Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event; and Airplay Song of the Year. Newcomer J Balvin received three trophies including Artist of the Year, New; Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga also received three awards. Carlos Santana was honored with the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award for his work on behalf of children through his Miracle Foundation. Beloved Brazilian singer Roberto Carlos received the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award,and treated viewers to a medley of signature songs from his illustrious career.
