THE PASSING SEASON, Featuring Stage Stars, Premieres On iTunes and Amazon

Feature film THE PASSING SEASON, starring "Sense8" star and Tony nominee Brian J. Smith, is now available on iTunes, Amazon, and other digital platforms. Gayle Rankin (Cabaret), Nick Choksi (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812), Patrick Murney, and Elizabeth Alderfer also star.

The feature debut of writer-director Gabriel Long follows the story of professional hockey player Sam Alden (Smith) who is told to hang up his skates. After returning to his rural Rhode Island hometown and reconnecting with a group of buddies who never left, he finds that recapturing innocence is more complicated than he imagined.

The film premiered at the Rhode Island International Film Festival where Long was honored with the New England Director's Award. It was also an Official Selection at the 2016 Newark International Film Festival.

Largely filmed in director Long's coastal Rhode Island hometown, THE PASSING SEASON captures quintessential New England. The story is vividly rendered by a winning ensemble cast that features three rising stars who are each leading new Netflix series: Gayle Rankin (Noah Baumbach's Yeh Din Ka Kissa) who'll appear in Jenji Kohan's "G.L.O.W.", Elizabeth Alderfer who'll star opposite Kathy Bates in Chuck Lorre's new series "Disjointed", and Patrick Murney ("Public Morals", Todd Haynes' Wonderstruck) who will star in "Seven Seconds" from "The Killing" creator Veena Sud. Co-starring is Broadway's Nick Choksi ("Happyish") who has earned raves for his performance in the smash hit Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812.

The film was shot by Emmy Award-winner Greg Harriott. Gabriel Long, Rebecca Atwood, Bruce Mason, and Courtney Hope Therond produced the film along with Atomic Clock and Fluxgate Productions.
