ET Online reports that while MISS UNIVERSE host STEVE HARVEY blamed his massive blunder on an incorrect teleprompter, the comedian himself may be partly responsible for what went down Saturday night on live TV.

According to the site, Harvey did not stay for the entire final run-through and practice of the show. A source close to the pageant reveals, "Steve went to the beginning of rehearsals but missed the last hour, at least. He did not practice the ending."

The "Family Feud" host said he misread the cue card when he announced Miss Colombia as the winner of the annual competition, instead of Miss Phillippines. He called the error an "honest mistake." In a Snapchat video, he also blamed the prompter for feeding him the incorrect winner's name. "The prompter said 'Miss Universe - Colombia,'" Harvey is seen telling a producer in the seven-second video. Yet according to ET's source, the name of the winner was never displayed on the prompter. "They don't want the girls to see it," they said.
