Stanley Tucci Joins Zombie Thriller PATIENT ZERO

According to Deadline, Screen Gems' upcoming action thriller PATIENT ZERO has nabbed Stanley Tucci to play its villain. The film is directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky from a script by Mike Le. Natalie Dormer and Matt Smith are also in the cast.

PATIENT ZERO tells the story of "an unprecedented global pandemic of a super strain of rabies has resulted in the evolution of a new species driven by violence. An inexplicably immune human survivor with the ability to communicate with this new species must spearhead a hunt for Patient Zero in order to find a cure to save his INFECTED wife and humanity."

Tucci will play "a professor who becomes INFECTED and highly violent...determined to crash the lab that's working on a cure and thwart the search for Patient Zero."

The actor will next be seen in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, Spotlight and the TV series Fortitude.

A Tony nominee, Tucci has appeared on Broadway in Lend Me a Tenor, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, Execution of Justice, The Iceman Cometh, Brighton Beach Memoirs, The Misanthrope and The Queen and the Rebels.
