According to Variety, Shonda Rhimes' upcoming memoir from Simon & Schuster, titled 'Year of Yes' will be released this fall.

Simon & Schuster describes the work as "part memoir, part inspiration, part prescription."

"Saying yes for an entire year turned out to be one of the most amazing decisions I have ever made," said Rhimes. "It was also a little insane, a lot terrifying and sometimes wildly embarrassing. So this is not a story I ever planned to share with anyone. However, once Simon & Schuster asked me, I had no choice - what else could I say but yes?"

"I have made a lot of mistakes as a single mother, and as a working mother, and as a sleepless mother, and as a dating mother," Rhimes said today. "And I did all of it while running a bunch of TV shows. So I'm going to write about that and hope my kids don't use it against me in therapy later."

"Shonda Rhimes is bar none in the storytelling realm," Simon & Schuster Vice-President and Editor-in-Chief Marysue Rucci said when Rhimes inked the publishing deal. "Now fans of her phenomenal shows can read Shonda's story in her own words - and marvel at how Shonda built a phenomenal career. Readers everywhere will cheer the fearless decisions Shonda has made to achieve happiness."

Aside from GREY'S, Rhimes has also created its spin-off series Private Practice and Scandal for the Alphabet network.
