Deadline reports that Ryan Seacrest has inked a multi-year deal with Dick Clark Productions to continue on as host and executive producer of ABC's yearly celebration NEW YEAR'S ROCKIN' EVE.

The American Idol host first emceed the event back in December of 2005 alongside Dick Clark, who passed away in 2012. Since then, Seacrest runs the show solo and is apparently doing a fine job. Last year's show delivered 22.6 million viewers and featured a two-hour tribute to the original host.

Said Dick Clark Prods. CEO Allen Shapiro, "Ryan has been a key factor in the extended and expanded success of the show. It's very difficult to take over a franchise created by an icon and grow it. Ryan has done just that."

Added Seacrest, "I think I will forever be both sentimental and grateful about my experiences with Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Allen and the DCP team, as well as everyone at ABC are my valued partners in carrying Dick's vision forward."
