RJ Mitte Set for Recurring Role on ABC Family's SWITCHED AT BIRTH
ABC Family has cast RJ Mitte ("Breaking Bad") in a recurring role on the Peabody Award winning drama, "Switched at Birth," which returns with season three in January 2014.
RJ will play Campbell, a pre-med college student paralyzed by a snowboarding accident who works in the free clinic with Daphne, played by series star Katie LeClerc.
"Switched at Birth" creator/executive producer Lizzy Weiss said, "We are thrilled to cast such a phenomenal and unique actor as RJ. Our show is about diversity and telling stories about people from all walks of life, and when we created the part of Campbell, we knew RJ was the perfect person to embody him. The character is charismatic, funny, and a bit of a ladies' man, and we think 'Breaking Bad' fans will enjoy seeing Walt, Jr. in a totally different light."
RJ Mitte noted, "I love Switched at Birth, it's super exciting to work with such an awesome cast."
"Switched at Birth" is executive-produced by Lizzy Weiss ("Blue Crush"), Paul Stupin ("Make It or Break It") and John Ziffren ("Melissa & Joey," "Make It or Break It"). The series stars Katie Leclerc as Daphne Vasquez; Vanessa Marano ("Gilmore Girls") as Bay Kennish; Constance Marie ("George Lopez") as Regina Vasquez; D.W. Moffett ("Friday Night Lights") as John Kennish; Lea Thompson ("Back to the Future," "Caroline in the City") as Kathryn Kennish; Lucas Grabeel ("High School Musical") as Toby Kennish; Sean Berdy as Emmett Bledsoe; with guest star Marlee Matlin ("The West Wing").
RJ Mitte is repped by Main Title and Bauman, Redanty & Shaul Agency.
