Paramount is bringing the Oscar-winning GHOST to the small screen.

Academy Award-winner Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner are set to co-script a pilot script based on the 1990 film starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze, according to Deadline. GHOST was previously adapted for the stage, which ran on Broadway and London's West End, and continues to tour the United States.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Akiva and Jeff, two deeply creative and accomplished talents, on the television adaptation of this classic supernatural drama," Paramount TV president Amy Powell said today in a statement.

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Film in 1990, Ghost became a blockbuster hit and an instant classic, winning numerous awards worldwide. The film starred Swayze, Moore, Tony Goldwyn and Whoopi Goldberg and was directed by Jerry Zucker. Bruce Joel Rubin's script won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and Whoopi Goldberg won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of psychic Oda Mae Brown.
