UPSTAIRS LANDING PRODUCTIONS launches the interview web series, "Standing By" on July 3rd, 2012 with special guests Sumayya Ali and David Hughey of the Tony winning best revival of "The Gershwins' Porgy And Bess".

"Standing By" introduces you to the understudies, standbys and swings helping keep Broadway's curtains up every night. Host Caskey Hunsader speaks with Broadway's rising stars on this new and exciting web series.

In the premier episode, Ali and Hughey discuss what it's like to be part of the historical 10 time Tony nominated production. The discuss the ins and outs of being ready at a moment's notice to go on and keep the show going. They also talk about the controversy surrounding the heavily discussed new adaptation by Diane Paulus and Suzan-Lori Parks.

Sumayya Ali is a swing and covers the roles of Bess, Clara, Serena, and The Strawberry Woman. She was last seen on Broadway in the revival production of Ragtime. New York credits include: City Center: Lost in the Stars. Regional: Master Class, Ragtime (Kennedy Center); Oklahoma! (Portland Center Stage). Film/TV: Red Hook Summer, American Idol. BA- Spelman, MM- NEC.

David Hughey is making his Broadway debut in Porgy And Bess. He is a swing and covers the roles of Sportin' Life, Jake, and Robbins. He has been in productions of Porgy and Bess around the world. Regional credits include: Lyric Opera of Chicago; Rappahannock County,Virginia Opera; IL Barbiere di Siviglia, L' Elisir d' Amore, Cleveland Opera; "Live From Lincoln Center." Host CASKEY HUNSADER is no stranger to theater both on and off stage. He is an accomplished performer and stage manager had has worked both in New York and on several national tours. In addition to his performance and stage management work, he is the owner and excecutive producer of Upstairs Landing Productions, specializing in the development and creation of theater and new media.
