Oxygen Media is giving the greenlight to the new original doc-comedy series UNPROTECTED, about a family leaving the witness protection program to start a new life, and is ordering an all new season of the hit series BAD GIRLS CLUB, pitting Bad Girls from the East Coast versus Bad Girls from the West Coast, it was announced today by Rod Aissa, Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Development, Oxygen Media. Production is already underway for both series and each are set to premiere in 2017. Joining the recently launched "Strut," and the upcoming competition series "The Battle of the Ex-Besties" and "Last Squad Standing" premiering this quarter, the two moves further expand the network's commitment to programming for millennial women.
"'Unprotected' brings our viewers the ultimate fish out of water comedy series that's like nothing else on television," said Aissa, "We're excited to bring the show to the network, along with a new season of 'BGC,' which after 16 seasons simply keeps getting better and better." In the half-hour doc-comedy "Unprotected," viewers will follow the Cantarellas, a family raising two teenagers, who have left the witness protection program to settle into the very suburban and retiree lifestyle of their new hometown of Scottsdale, AZ. Over the course of the season, viewers will see them adapting to their unfamiliar surroundings and trying to reform their old ways, but all the while staying true to themselves. From running a legit family business to making new friends, the Cantarellas are putting their wayward past behind them and learning how to live life in the burbs.Videos
