Oscar Winner Jim Broadbent Set for Final Season of GAME OF THRONES

EW reports exclusively that Jim Broadbent has joined the cast of HBO's GAME OF THRONES for the final season.

Although no details have been revealed as to the role the Oscar winner will play on the fantasy series, the site shares that it will be "significant." As previously reported, the final season of 'Thrones' will film in Northern Ireland, Spain and Iceland. Set to premiere next summer, the season will consist of only seven episodes. The show has been nominated for 23 Emmy Awards.

Broadbent's extensive film credits include Time Bandits, Brazil and Bridget Jones's Diary. He also portrayed Horace Slughorn in the Harry Potter movie franchise. He was nominated for an Emmy award for his title role on the series Longford, and won the best supporting actor Oscar for his role in the 2001 film Iris.
