ET reports that a new poster for Paramount Pictures' Teenage MUTANT NINJA TURTLE is causing a bit of a controversy.

According to the report, Paramount Pictures Australia tweeted the official artwork depicting the film's stars jumping from a burning high-rise building, along with the caption "Check out the official poster for #TMNT in cinemas September 11!"

The fact that the poster shows figures leaping from a skyscraper on fire, coupled with the news that the film, set in New York City, will open on 9/11, just hit too close to home for many. The tweet has since been taken down from the site.

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, the film stars Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Will Arnett, Danny Woodburn, William Fichtner,Johnny Knoxville, Tony Shalhoub

Plot Summary:

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O'Neil (Megan Fox) and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) to save the city and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan.
