NBC's THE VOICE is #1 Show in 18-49 by +65% Margin

NBC won Monday night among the Big 4 in every key demographic, as the #1 show of the night, "The Voice," topped the #2 show, ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" premiere, by a +65% margin in adults 18-49, while "Night Shift" matched its second-highest rating ever.

· "The Voice" (3.3/10 in 18-49, 12.2 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 show of the night by a +65 margin in adults 18-49 (3.3 vs. 2.0 for the #2 show, ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" season premiere). "The Voice" is the #1 Big 4 show of the night in every key demo and topped the "Dancing" season premiere head to head in the 8-10 p.m. time period in every key demo.


· "The Voice finished within 8% of last week's 3.6 rating in these prelim fast-affiliate results and within 13% of last week's 3.8 in official nationals.


· "The Voice" grew dramatically through the two-hour time period, increasing by 0.8 of a point or +29% from its first half-hour to its fourth (2.8 to 3.6), stretching its lead over "Dancing" from 0.8 of a point from 8-8:30 to 1.5 from 9:30-10.

· "Live Plus Seven Day" Ratings: First-run editions of Monday's "Voice" this season have grown by +25% in 18-49 rating (from a 3.4.0 to a 4.26) going from L+SD to L+7 and by 2.2 million viewers overall (12.1 million to 14.3 million).

· Upscale: Last Monday's "Voice" was the #2 most upscale show on the Big 4 that night, indexing at 114 among in adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (100 represents an average concentration of those homes, L+SD).


· "The Night Shift" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) jumped +15% week to week (1.5 vs. 1.3) to equal the show's season high in 18-49 and second-highest rating ever. The 1.5 matches the show's high since its series premiere (1.6 on Tuesday, May 27, 2014). In total viewers, "Night Shift" is up week to week by +5% (5.740 million vs. 5.446 million).


· "The Night Shift" tied for the slot win among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, as well as adults 18-34, and is #1 outright among those nets in men 18-49 and men 18-34.


· "The Night Shift" will grow significantly in L+3 - last week's "Night Shift" increased by +28% in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+3 (1.29 to 1.65). In total viewers, "Night Shift" grew by more than 1.2 million persons (from 5.4 million to 6.7 million).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday Night:

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.8/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.0/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.6/7.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.2/6; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/4.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.7/6 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


For the Week:

· NBC has tied for #2 among the Big 4 networks for the primetime ratings week of March 9-15 in adults 18-49, finishing within 0.1 of a rating point of #1, as the Monday and Tuesday editions of "The Voice" accounted for two of the week's top four primetime telecasts on the Big 4 networks.


· For the week, NBC averaged a 1.5 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers overall, according to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.


· In addition to generating two of the week's top four primetime Big 4 ratings in adults 18-49, "The Voice" delivered two of the top four results in men 18-49 and adults, men and women 25-54 and two of the top three in women 18-49, teens 12-17 and kids 2-11.


· For the 2014-15 season to date, NBC ranks #1 or tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 as well as adults 25-54, adults 18-34, men and women 18-34 and men and women 18-49.


· In total viewers, NBC is #2 for the season, and running within 8% of its year-ago Olympics-boosted average (9.3 million vs. 10.1 million), making this season and last NBC's two top-scoring seasons in total viewers at this point since the 2006-07 season. This is the second year in a row NBC has ranked #2 in total viewers at this point in the season, marking first two times since 2003-04 that NBC has ranked as high as #2 in total viewers at this point.
