For the week, Fallon topped CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" in adult 18-49 rating by an 87% margin (with a 1.18 rating vs. a 0.63) and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" by 79% (1.18 vs. 0.66). In a week that included the announcement of Letterman's retirement and a Wednesday appearance by former President Bill Clinton on "Kimmel," Fallon's 1.18 rating was up 46% versus the year-ago 0.81 for "Tonight," while "Late Show" declined by 5% (0.63 vs. 0.66) and "Kimmel" was down by 10% (0.66 vs. 0.73).
