NBC's DATELINE is Top Non-NBA Show of the Night

"Dateline NBC" (1.2/5 in 18-49, 6.4 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) grew +9% week to week in 18-49 (1.2 vs. 1.1) to equal the show's top Thursday rating since April 2 (1.3). In the key news demo of adults 25-54 (1.7), also matched its high since April 2 (1.8).

Excluding ABC's NBA-themed programming, "Dateline NBC" tied for #2 for the night among Big 4 primetime shows in adults 18-49, behind only CBS's "Big Bang" encore and ranked #1 for the night among Big 4 primetime shows in women 18-49 (1.7).

In the time period, "Dateline NBC" currently ranks #2 among the Big 4 nets in total viewers, women 18-49 and women 25-54, behind only ABC, whose results are currently inflated by overrun NBA basketball on the West Coast.

"Aquarius" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 3.7 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET), facing the NBA FINALS on ABC for a second straight week, grew week to week by +14% in adults 18-49 (0.8 vs. 0.7) and by +22% in women 18-49 (1.1 vs. 0.9).

"Aquarius" will add significant viewership via time-shifting - last week's "Aquarius" grew by +32% in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+3 (0.73 to 0.96). In total viewers, "Aquarius" increased by 1.0 million persons (from 3.9 million to 4.9 million).

"Hannibal" (0.5/2 in 18-49, 1.7 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) retained its full rating from half-hour to half in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.5) and adults 25-54 (0.7 vs. 0.7), despite the 10 p.m. hour.

"Hannibal" will add substantial viewership via time-shifting - last season "Hannibal" increased by +67% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (0.85 to 1.42) and by 1.2 million persons in total viewers (2.5 million to 3.7 million).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Thursday Night:

In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.5/6; "CBS Summer Showcase," 1.6/4 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.7/9 delayed by an NBA FINALS overrun.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/4; "CBS Summer Showcase," 0.3/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.4/4, delayed by an NBA FINALS overrun.

From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline," delayed by an NBA FINALS overrun, averaged a 1.8/7 in metered-market households and a 0.9/7 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.0/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
