NBC Sports to Conclude Its Live MLS Coverage, 11/18

NBC Sports Group concludes its live coverage of MLS games this season when D.C. United host Houston Dynamo at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. The Dynamo beat D.C. United in the first leg with a 3-1 victory last Sunday. In order to advance to the MLS Cup, D.C. United must overcome that two-goal deficit against a tough Houston defense that has only given up three goals in four playoff matches. If the two-leg, total goals series is tied at the end of 90 minutes of action on Sunday, two 15-minute extra time periods will be played, followed by a penalty kick tiebreaker, if necessary.

Arlo White (play-by-play) will call the action for Sunday’s conference final game alongside analyst Kyle Martino (“Between the Benches”) and Russ Thaler (host).

WHITE ON HOUSTON DYNAMO: “The Dynamo have a massive advantage going into this second leg, but a wounded and embattled D.C. United have nothing to lose. Ben Olsen’s men are the cinderella story of these MLS Cup playoffs, and maybe Dwayne De Rosario could return from injury for the Men in Black to write the final chapter against his former club.”

MARTINO ON D.C. UNITED: “Its kitchen sink time for D.C. They need to leave it all out on that RFK field this weekend if they want to keep the dream alive.”

ProSoccerTalk on NBCSports.com: Steve Davis (@SteveDavis90), a respected soccer journalist for more than two decades, is the featured writer for ProSoccerTalk on NBCSports.coM. Davis, who has covered Major League Soccer, since its inception in 1996 contributes regular posts and will provide video reports to NBCSports.com, and is expected to be an occasional guest on NBC SportsTalk, the daily hour-long news and information show on NBC Sports Network.

Last August, Major League Soccer (MLS) and the NBC Sports Group announced a three-year media rights agreement that calls for 46 MLS games and four U.S. National Team contests to be televised live across both NBC and NBC Sports Network each season. This agreement was the first rights deal for the new NBC Sports Network. All telecasts on NBC and NBC Sports Network will consist of pre-game and post-game coverage.
