Deadline.com reports that the NBC comedy 30 ROCK will most likely return for a seventh and final season next year. The season is expected to be comprised of 13 to 14 episodes. On a recent appearance on ABC's 'The View', 30 ROCK star and creator Tina Fey commented that the end of the long-running sitcom was "on the horizon".

According to the report, NBC's Parks and Recreation is also likely to be renewed for a fifth season, along with the comedy series Community. If either or both shows are picked up, it will most likely be for shorter runs, allowing the network to spend more money on some of its newer comedies.

The freshman sitcom Whitney is not expected to return next year, while the future of Christina Applegate's comedy Up All Night is also uncertain.

NBC recently announced that it has picked up a number of comedy pilots to series, including Matthew Perry's Go On, religious comedy Save Me, Josh Gad's White House comedy 1600 Penn and Glee creator Ryan Murphy's The New Normal.
