Leah Remini, a former Scientologist who recently published a tell-all memoir about her life with the controversial church, will star in a new A&E series based on her experiences.

The Hollywood Reporter reports filming is already underway for the drama which will "detail Remini's experience with Scientology and her 2013 departure as well as focus on the families of other church members."

Remini is perhaps best known for her role as Carrie Heffernan on CBS's THE KING OF QUEENS. She also competed on a past season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars and starred in her own reality series on TLC - Leah Remini: It's All Relative. The actress has discussed her experiences with the Church of Scientology in several interviews and penned the 2015 best-seller Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology.
