Lauren Kisilevsky Promoted to Disney Channel VP, Original Movies

Lauren Kisilevsky has been promoted to vice president, Original Movies, Disney Channel, it was announced today by Naketha Mattocks, vice president, Original Movies, Disney Channels Worldwide, to whom Kisilevsky reports.

Kisilevsky has been working on the successful Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) franchise since 2010. In her new role, she will continue overseeing creative development for some of Disney Channel's upcoming movies including the highly anticipated "High School Musical 4."

Mattocks said, "Lauren is an incredibly talented executive and her years of expertise in feature film development has helped tremendously in pushing our movies to the next level. She excels at creative storytelling and has a deep understanding of our audience and the themes that matter most to them, which shines through in every project she works on."

Kisilevsky's responsibilities include script development, generating new projects, collaborating with writers and directors, and overseeing storytelling throughout production. Kisilevsky most recently held the position of executive director, Original Movies, Disney Channel and oversaw recent projects including the hit "Teen Beach 2," "Zapped" starring Zendaya and the STEM-focused "How to Build a Better Boy." She joined Disney in 2010 as director, Original Movies, Disney Channel.

Prior to joining Disney, Kisilevsky served as vice president, Production and Acquisitions for Overture Films where she oversaw Sundance favorite and Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award winner "Paper Heart" and worked on other projects including "Nothing Like the Holidays" and "Pandorum." Additionally, she managed a slate of over 20 projects in various stages of development. Kisilevsky worked at Reese Witherspoon's Type A Films as vice president of Development and also held executive positions for Ashton Kutcher's Katalyst Films, Beacon Pictures and Blue Star Pictures where she worked on films including "Little Black Book," "The Messengers" and "The Burrowers."

Kisilevsky grew up in Montreal, Canada, and attended Concordia University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, and Western Society and Culture.
