The Washington Times reports that Lady Gaga kicked off New York City's Gay Pride Celebration with a performance at Pier 26 and with a rousing rendition of the National Anthem, albeit with a minor lyrical change. As she held a rainbow flag, a longtime symbol of the Gay Rights movement, she belted the words 'O say does that star-spangled flag of pride yet wave..land of the free, and the home for the gay.'

In a landmark decision this past Wednesday, the Supreme Court struck down provisions of the contested Defense of Marriage Act, which prevented same-sex couples from receiving certain Federal benefits. In addition, they also struck down a separate law in California clearing the way for same-sex couples to get married again there.

Gaga then tweeted a photo of herself in a wedding dress, saying 'We stand tall today.#DomaStruckDown So many fought for so long. Be proud, the prejudice are now the minority'
