See below for full details on this season's schedule.

Minnesota's Palace Theatre on October 13, 2018

Dirty Projectors

Dirty Projectors, led by Dave Longstreth, has just released their new album Lamp Lit Prose. It is an album of light and lightness, tenderness and care, melody and fascination and beauty. Lamp Lit Prose is a rebirth: an album of new hopes, new ideas & new collaborators. Lamp Lit Prose's guest list brings together 90's UNDERGROUND heroes, up-and-coming avant-r&b wunderkinds and established indie talents-along with great instrumentalists in many stripes of post-genre tradition. This impressive list includes Syd, Amber Mark, Empress Of, Haim (background vox), Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes, Rostam and Dear Nora.

Anna & Elizabeth

Anna & Elizabeth are a spellbinding duo who reconfigure ancient folk ballads in the Appalachian tradition with new experimentations. They combine two powerful and very distinct voices. Elizabeth LaPrelle was raised in rural Virginia and is frequently lauded as one of the finest traditional singers of her generation. Anna Roberts-Gevalt is a multi-instrumentalist whose musical CURIOSITY has taken her from old time fiddling in Kentucky to a more recent immersion in Brooklyn's avant-garde community. Together they find new ways to tell old stories of love, loss and intrigue, while relishing the tension that arises between their very different backgrounds and orthodoxies; holding firm to the roots of the music while removing the limits of how that music can be played and presented.

The Sklar Brothers

Randy and Jason Sklar began as one zygote and later guest starred in many TV shows including an Emmy Award winning episode of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, the FX hit It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Adult Swim's Children's' Hospital and most recently in USA Network's critically acclaimed comedy Playing House, IFC's hit show Maron, and multiple Season 3 episodes of Better Call Saul. In addition, the Sklars recently appeared in Comedy Central's Roast Battle III and CNN's The History of Comedy.

Minnesota's Fitzgerald Theater on October 20, 2018

Gabriel Kahane

Singer-songwriter and composer Gabriel Kahane has recorded critically acclaimed albums including this year's Book of Travelers, The Ambassador, The Fiction Issue and Where Are the Arms. The staged version of The Ambassador, directed by Tony-winner John Tiffany, was presented by BAM, CAP UCLA and Carolina Performing Arts. As a composer of concert works, Kahane has been commissioned by Carnegie Hall, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Oregon Symphony, American Composers Orchestra and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. He has appeared as soloist with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Colorado Symphony the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and A Far Cry. A two-time MacDowell COLONY fellow, Kahane has performed and/or recorded with artists ranging from Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, Blake Mills, Chris Thile and Brad Mehldau, to Jeremy Denk, yMusic and John Adams. He is a graduate of Brown University and resides in Brooklyn.

War & Treaty

As The War and Treaty, Michael and Tanya Trotter serve up healing and pain robbing with freewheeling joy on their new full-length album, Healing Tide. Funky bass lines, keys, lap steel, acoustic strings, and stripped-down percussion create a swampy Southern soul bed for the couple's transcendent vocals. A tour-de-force produced by Buddy Miller, the collection swaggers with confidence only gained by artists who are wholly, proudly, themselves.

Negin Farsad

Negin Farsad was named one of 50 Funniest Women by HuffPost, named one of the 10 Best Feminist Comedians by PAPER Magazine and was selected as a TEDFellow for her work in social justice comedy. She even gave a TEDTalk because they slipped up and let a comedian on their vaunted stage. She is the author of the recently released How To Make White People Laugh, a memoir-meets-social-justice-comedy manifesto that was nominated for the Thurber Prize for Humor and recommended by Oprah Magazine. Farsad is host of Fake the Nation, a political comedy podcast on the Earwolf network and she's a regular panelist on NPR's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. She appears on the current season of Nat Geo's Year Million, the upcoming season of HBO's HIGH MAINTENANCE and the last season of Netflix's Chelsea Handler Show. She is also the director/writer/star of the rom-com 3rd Street Blackout, starring Janeane Garofalo, Ed Weeks, and John Hodgman (now available on Amazon). She has written for/appeared on Comedy Central, MTV, PBS, IFC, Nickelodeon and others. She is director/producer of the feature films The Muslims Are Coming! starring Jon Stewart, David Cross and Lewis Black and Nerdcore Rising starring Weird Al Yankovic (both available wherever movies are streamed/downloaded).

New York's The Town Hall on December 1, 2018

Cat Power

There are few voices more deeply embedded in the iconography and mythology of American indie rock than that of Chan Marshall. Under the musical nom de plume of Cat Power, Marshall has released music for nearly 25 years now and her prowess as a songwriter, a producer and most notably-as a voice-has only grown more influential with time. On her 10th studio album, Wanderer, Marshall resets her dials, offering a collection of songs that function as pristine examples of her still-evolving creative practice. Held aloft primarily by Marshall's own guitar and piano, Wanderer is a collection of winding, wondering narratives all perfectly imbued with the kind of yearning and warmth that have made her one of the most distinctive and beloved artists of her generation.

Jon Batiste

Born into a long lineage of Louisiana musicians, Jon Batiste is a globally celebrated musician, educator, bandleader and television personality whose musical skill, artistic vision and exuberant charisma has made him a triple threat and the newly "crowned prince of jazz." Jon is recognized for his originality, jaw-dropping talent and dapper sense of style. Jon effortlessly transitions from commanding the piano with virtuosic skill to soulfully crooning to wailing on the "harmonaboard" (a hybrid of a harmonica and keyboard) to curating unique "social music" experiences all over the world, whether solo or with his band Stay Human.
