Kristin Kreuk to Star in The CW Pilot BEAUTY & THE BEAST

As first reported on Deadline.com, actress Kristin Kreuk will star in the upcoming CW pilot BEAUTY & THE BEAST. 

The actress who starred in the CW series 'Smallville' will return to the network in the series which is loosely based on the 1980's series starring Linda Hamilton. The rebooted series is described as "a modern-day romantic love story with a procedural twist which centers on Catherine (Kreuk), a tough-minded NYPD Homicide Detective haunted by witnessing her mother’s murder 9 years ago and the killers’ quick demise at the hands of a Beast. After years of searching, Catherine finally finds the Beast, Vincent Koslow, the survivor of a military experiment that went disastrously wrong, and becomes the protector of his secret life as a bestial superhero."

The pilot will be directed by Gary Fleder and was penned by Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper who will also serve as executive producers.

Kreuk portrayed Lana Lang on the series 'Smallville'. Her other TV credits include a guest appearance on the NBC dramedy 'Chuck'.
