In an interview about his return to Broadway's Hedwig and the Angry Inch in the title role, John Cameron Mitchell touched on the possibility of a HEDWIG sequel.

"I sort of see it like Olive Kitteridge, like a long miniseries, four to six hours," he told Time Out NY. "It's still a musical; it's very much about her. It's kind of on indefinite hold now because of other projects, but it's been developed a good deal. It's darker. It's about the second half of her life, which is the antithesis of 'It Gets Better' videos -- for her, it gets worse. My favorite playwright is probably Samuel Beckett and; he was always laughing at the abyss. When Hedwig returns, it will definitely be about the limitation of life and how absurd that is."

Original star of HEDWIG, John Cameron Mitchell returns to the role he co-created with Stephen Trask for eight weeks, opposite Tony Award winner Lena Hall, who continues with the production as Yitzhak.

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH with music and lyrics by Trask and book by Mitchell, directed by Michael Mayer, has received rave reviews and is the winner of four TONY AWARDS including Best Musical Revival. It was also awarded Best Musical Revival by the Drama Desk Awards, Drama League Awards, and Outer Critics Circle Awards.

"Internationally ignored song stylist" Hedwig Robinson (Mitchell) brings her fourth-wall-smashing rock and roll saga to New York to set the record straight about her life, her loves, and the BOTCHED operation that left her with that "angry inch."
