Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to Star in Netflix Sci-Fi Film

Oscar winner Jamie Foxx and Emmy winner Joseph Gordon-Levitt will co-star in Netflix's untitled sci-fi film. Although Netflix is keeping mum about story details, the streaming service has confirmed that the film is written by Mattson Tomlin and directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman.

Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless' Screen Arcade will produce as part of their first look deal with Netflix.

The film is set in Portland during a drug epidemic. The drug in question gives people a range of superpowers. Gordon-Levitt is a cop whose job is to get the drug off the street but realizes that the only way to fight the users is to take the drug himself.

Joost and Schulman are known for the documentary Catfish as well as several of the Paranormal Activity movies.

Foxx can be seen next in the film Robin Hood, out November 21st. He's also filming the drama Just Mercy with Michael B. Jordan. Gordon-Levitt can next be seen in the independent thriller 7500.

The film is eyeing an October start in New Orleans.
