History's original hit series ICE ROAD TRUCKERS is going where it's never gone before. From the most extreme weather in a quarter century, to the world's longest winter road, the warriors of the ice roads will face their toughest battle yet - the polar vortex - when season eight premieres on Monday, July 7 at 10 PM ET/PT.

A weather system not seen in North America since the mid 1980's, the polar vortex is wreaking havoc and doubling the danger, making it even tougher to keep the trucks on the road and above the ice. The weather isn't the only challenge facing the Ice Road Truckers this season. They will be pushing deeper into the frozen frontier, pressing their luck on new roads. For the first time ever, drivers will be hauling on the trail the Guinness Book of World Records named "the longest seasonal winter road in the world," dubbed the 'Ring of Fire Road' for its treacherous passage that winds its way through manmade ice canyons and over deep water. These harsh conditions aren't stopping Polar Industries and VP Express from backing down against the war that ignited last year. The rough riders of the frozen frontiers - Hugh Rowland, Alex Debogorski, Mark Kohaykewych, Todd Dewey, Lisa Kelly, Darrel Ward and Art Burke are back and this season's perilous challenges take them on a non-stop ride over thin ice.

ICE ROAD TRUCKERS season eight is being produced for Shaw Media/HISTORY Canada by Sarah Jane Flynn, Senior Director of Original Factual Content, Nick Crowe, Director of Original Factual Content and AETN/HISTORY in association with Original Productions. Original Productions Executive Producers include Thom Beers, Philip David Segal and Jeff Conroy and Co-Executive Producers are Sarah Whalen and Jeff Meredith.
