A new Facebook video scam is making the rounds, claiming 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan has died following the roadway accident that killed his friend and writer 62-year-old James McNair, and hospitalized the actor this month. The rumors, as his spokesperson confirmed last week, are false, and has Morgan entered a rehab center.

On the scam, Malwarebytes' Christopher Boyd says: "Pay no attention to scammy and sensational sounding videos appearing on your Facebook feed and stick to trusted news sources for breaking stories and information.

Surveys are always a pain, but scam sites offering up random redirects always carry the potential to be even more problematic - you simply never know where you're going to end up. The final destination could be harmless or it might be a PUP, malware or even a phish."

Morgan's spokesperson, Lewis Kay, said "While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go."

Kay continued, "He and (fiancé) Megan wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided him."

Morgan's tour bus was struck by a semi-truck on Saturday, June 7th. Read our article from June 19th for the latest updates on the investigation.

FXX, which was to begin airing Morgan's return to TV this year, has said that when he is healthy, his show will be waiting on him.

From 2006 to 2013, Morgan starred on NBC's Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning "30 Rock," opposite Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin as Tracy Jordan, the unpredictable star of the fictional hit variety show "TGS with Tracy Jordan." In 2009, he received an Emmy nomination for "Best Supporting Actor" for his work on "30 Rock."

One the big screen, he has starred in numerous films including "The Son of No One," "Why Stop Now," "Half Baked," "Deal at a Funeral" and "The Longest Yard." He has provided his voice to numerous animated characters over the years including Luiz in "Rio" and the upcoming "Rio 2," and Blaster in "G-Force."

In 2009 he released his first book, "I Am The New Black," a compilation of studied anecdotes and some of the more serious moments that shaped him and his career. He was scheduled to begin filming a 10-episode FXXcomedy series in August. Parent company FX Network confirmed this week that Morgan's show would be waiting for him after his recovery.
